((audience)) accepts audio submissions from sound artists, musicians, composers, Foley artists, audio engineers and filmmakers. We draw on our archive of recorded submissions when considering works for inclusion in Cinema for the Ear. We also welcome inquiries and proposals from performing artists for Sound Off and other live programs.
We consider form (technical proficiency, spatial experimentation, dynamic range), content (narrative coherence, integrity) and context. For “Cinema for the Ear,” we seek works that play with the traditional idea of cinematic surround sound and that emphasize temporal, narrative or spatial experimentation. Before submitting a work to ((audience)), please look at our event history to learn more about the types of works that we present.
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. Selection for the next Cinema for the Ear program will be made in 2015. (Stay tuned for news about our review period and updated deadlines.) Selections for Sound Off headline acts are made in January each year. Opening acts are selected 4-6 weeks before events.
